Donald J. Beilstein, O.D.

Dr. Beilstein earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Irvine in 1977. He received the Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton in 1982. He graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) and was selected by the college staff as the “Top Clinical Student” in his class.

Dr. Beilstein opened the Wildwood Eyecare Center in Penn Valley, California in 1984 and has lived in the community with his family ever since. As a member of the American Optometric Association, he is committed to providing the most technologically advanced eyecare available anywhere. Over the last 28 years, he has consistently updated his computerized instrumentation.

Dr. Beilstein has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education and

the state approved glaucoma course at the University of California at Berkeley. With the new Zeiss Cirrus
HD-OCT to measure the retinal nerve fiber layer, he is now able to diagnose and treat glaucoma at the first onset of disease before damage to the vision occurs.

He has completed certification courses in the co-management of LASIK and cataract surgery patients, and since 1995 has handled the pre and post-operative care of thousands of these patients. Along with Dr. Meister’s expertise, the visual outcomes of these patients have consistently been outstanding.

perform LASIK as it was being developed. Dr. Meister has performed over 15,000 laser vision correction procedures and over 20,000 cataract surgeries.

Dr. Meister is committed to remaining at the leading edge of new refractive technology. He has appeared on radio and TV programs locally and lectured nationally and internationally on refractive surgery.
