Donald J. Beilstein, O.D.

Dr. Beilstein earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Irvine in 1977. He received the Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton in 1982. He graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) and was selected by the college staff as the “Top Clinical Student” in his class. 

Dr. Beilstein opened the Wildwood Eyecare Center in Penn Valley, California in 1984 and has lived in the community with his family ever since. As a member of the American Optometric Association, he is committed to providing the most technologically advanced eyecare available anywhere. Over the last 28 years, he has consistently updated his computerized instrumentation.

Dr. Beilstein has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education and


the state approved glaucoma course at the University of California at Berkeley. With the new Nikon California Optomap ultra-wide digital retinal camera and the Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT which measures the retinal nerve fiber layer, he is now able to diagnose and treat glaucoma at the first onset of disease before damage to the vision occurs.

He has completed certification courses in the co-management of LASIK and cataract surgery patients, and since 1995 has handled the pre and post-operative care of thousands of these patients. Along with Dr. Meister’s expertise, the visual outcomes of these patients have consistently been outstanding.

Mujahid A. Hines, M.D.

Dr. Hines is a board certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist (Eye Surgeon and Physician). He specializes in advanced refractive cataract surgery and LASIK. Dr. Hines prides himself on offering his patients the most advanced options for their visual needs including Laser Assisted Cataract surgery and premium lens options. He also provides comprehensive eye examinations and is skilled in the early detection and treatment of diabetes, glaucoma, and other ocular diseases. 

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology/Biomedical Science. He received his medical degree with distinction from the University of Oklahoma Medical School where he was named the McKinley Williams Scholar of his graduating class. He subsequently completed his medical internship at Unity Health Systems in Rochester, New York and was recognized as the Intern of the Year. Dr. Hines completed his residency in
Ophthalmology at the Flaum Eye Institute of the University of Rochester in Rochester New York. He was selected as a SuperDoctor Rising Star by his regional physicians and Texas Monthly Magazine in 2016, 2017 and 2018. 

Dr. Hines is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Phi Beta Kappa academic society. He has published numerous scientific articles and is passionate about continuing his interest in patient education and community service. He frequently holds seminars for students interested in pursuing careers in the medical profession.
